The first thing you do is put a legit PS1 game into the disc tray and turn the PS2 on. Now that that's done, you are able to play burned PS1 games on your slim PS2. Roll up another ball of tape and press it down into the switch with a screwdriver until it's stuck nice and firm. Then there's a third sensor which is located right above the power button.

Roll up a ball of tape and stuff it in that hole so that the switch will stay stuck. Hold it down and a little hole right next to it will be exposed. On the top right side of where the disc would go, there's a little switch you can move to the side. Once the lid is back on, open up the disc tray. Tape this sensor down so that it stays pressed, and then put the lid back on and screw the PS2 back up. It'll be behind the laser assembly to the left. The first thing you do is unplug and unscrew your PS2, take the lid off, and locate the disc tray sensor. What you need is a slim PS2, a legit PS1 game, and your burned PS1 game.
